What makes a good refrigerant?
Selection of a safe, efficient and environmentally benign refrigerant is a challenge. Recent environmental legislation is moving designers towards lower GWP refrigerants to replace the widely used HFCs. However, many of the lowest GWP options have additional safety or technological implications associated with them and therefore selection of refrigerant is straightforward.
