Apprentice sample job description
A refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump apprenticeship is likely to be suitable for individuals who:
- Have an aptitude for technical subjects and/or are practically minded
- Have an interest in technology
- Can demonstrate an ability to solve practical problems
- Physically fit for site activities
Other selection criteria may also include:
- Motivation to succeed
- Willingness to learn and apply that learning in the workplace/job role
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people
- Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces
- Willingness to work outdoors
Candidates will possess a minimum of 4 standard grade or GCSE passes at level C and above, including Maths and English.
A Refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump apprenticeship is broadly based on 4 years duration, for some this may be achievable in 3 years depending on your ability to:
- Complete the respective NVQ programmes
- Completion of their Refrigeration Log Book and related assignments
- Demonstrate their Health and Safety knowledge
- Maintain high standards of conduct, adherence to company policies and procedures
- Demonstrate their technical ability in independently operating and servicing refrigeration equipment as directed by their line manager
